Play For Voices

Play for Voices is a podcast of international audio drama, launched in the fall of 2016.

My translation of Tereza Semotamová's radio play Please Enter Destination was featured in the podcast's fourth episode, and the script was published by the Words Without Borders magazine.

You can listen to the play through the Play For Voices website (there's an interview with us as well!),
and read the script at Words Without Borders. Tereza speaks a bit more about the project here (Czech only).

Subtitles

I offer the subtitling of English and/or Czech videos.

Over the past seven years, I’ve worked for a number of film festivals (One World, Cinema Mundi, Visions of Light) and created subtitles for dozens of commercial videos, including the two samples below.

I can provide the subtitles either in plain text format, or time them and deliver a subtitle file (.srt, .sub, .txt...).
I also offer subtitling for the deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Czech subtitles for the já du magazine.

Czech subtitles to a book trailer for Euromedia Publishing.

Interpreting

I offer consecutive interpretation in English and Czech.
I am based in Prague, Czech Republic, but am happy to travel as needed.

I'm unfortunately unable to help with conference (simultaneous) or court interpretation.

Or any variation thereof, really.

Czech audio will be transcribed in Czech, English audio in English.

I’ve been translating for seven years, three of that as a full-time freelancer. A native Czech, I was brought up in a bilingual environment and spent most of my childhood abroad; today, I am based in Prague. That said, I do try to travel to English-speaking countries whenever I can!

I have a master's degree in English-language translation and am a member of JTP, the Czech translators' and interpreters' union.
